About the Course
This introductory, in-person welding course provides hands-on training in core welding processes while emphasizing safety, proper equipment setup, and foundational welding principles. The course features a different welding focus each semester—Stick Welding (SMAW) in the fall and MIG/Flux Core Welding (GMAW/FCAW) in the spring. Students develop practical welding skills that prepare them for entry-level employment, may earn two NC3 industry certifications, and may be eligible for Prior Learning Assessment (PLA) credit toward Wallace State's Welding Technology program.
