About the Course
This tuition-free Skills for Success course trains students to support nursing staff in patient care, including bedside care, monitoring, and assisting with basic clinical procedures under the direction of a licensed nurse. Course topics include vital signs, patient safety and monitoring, infection control, mobility assistance, proper documentation, and communication skills for working with patients, families, and healthcare teams. Training combines classroom instruction with hands-on simulation lab practice.
This course also provides a strong foundation for those looking to apply to Wallace State's Nursing program, equipping students with key skills for further healthcare education. Students who successfully complete the course and pass the certification exam also earn two additional points toward their Wallace State Nursing program application.
